Damon C. Merchant
Founder & CEO
Damon Merchant is the founder and CEO of Corbus Medical and the architect of AMIR (Artificial Medical Intelligence Researcher), the company's flagship AI platform for pharmaceutical research. He brings 25+ years of engineering leadership and a rare combination of credentials to the medical-AI space: dual CCIE certifications (Routing & Switching, Voice), PMP, and deep healthcare-industry experience.
Damon's healthcare background spans both clinical and pharmaceutical environments. As a Senior Voice Engineer at Fresenius Medical Care, he led Webex Calling deployments across clinics and corporate facilities and built “FIONA,” an AI-driven chatbot that automated Tier-1 IT operations and significantly reduced ticket volume. Earlier in his career, he served as an infrastructure support engineer at Detroit Medical Center (DMC), giving him first-hand exposure to the operational realities of large hospital systems.
Beyond Corbus Medical, Damon is the founder of Corbus AI, where he and his team have shipped a portfolio of production AI systems including AMIR, B.R.I.E.F. (AI marketing campaigns), CorbusCrew (autonomous AI employees), Visual Artist Studio (AI music video production), Live Tarot and Virtual Shepherd (both live on Google Play), and CORA (private-beta AI FX trading agent). Upcoming releases include C.I.N.E.M.A., Actor Studio, Interactive Cinema, Virtual Therapist, and Virtual Sweetheart. He was a featured speaker at the American Film Convention on AI's role in modern production pipelines.
Earlier in his career, Damon was a Certified Cisco Systems Instructor (CCSI) teaching official Cisco curriculum and a co-author or technical editor on five networking titles published by Syngress and McGraw-Hill, including the CCNA 2.0 Study Guide, CCDA Study Guide, and CCNP Routing. He studied Computer Science at the University of Michigan.
